La Vang Restaurant
17790 SW Pilkington Road
Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035
It might be tucked away on a quiet Lake Oswego side street, but if you are craving good Vietnamese food then La Vang Restaurant is definitely worth the trip. And don’t let the strip mall location fool you; the food is darn delicious!
The menu offers something for everyone, from pho to vermicelli noodle dishes to rice dishes to stir fried dishes. They also offer a good number of appetizers to start off your meals.
Typically, I start off with an order of the massive salad rolls served with homemade peanut sauce. The salad rolls are a perfect combination of soft vermicelli noodles, crisp mint and cilantro, and tasty shrimp and minced pork—all wrapped up in rice paper. One of my favorite things about La Vang has to be the peanut sauce, it is practically peanut butter and I could easily eat it all day long! Continue reading Review: La Vang Restaurant
On Friday, a friend and I decided to make a dent in his Chili’s gift card (a recent birthday present, and one of his favorite places to eat). We drove over to the Lake Oswego location to grab a quick bite only to find an empty parking lot.Chili’s was closed. Seal up and completely erased of any Chili’s identifying markers.
What? Just a few weeks ago the Internet was packed with ads touting their new Bottomless Express Lunch.
I had heard that Chili’s was in financial trouble, but didn’t realize that they boarded up four Portland locations almost a month ago. So if you have a Chili’s gift card you’re going to have to head over to Clackamas Town Center–the only Chili’s still open in the entire Portland area.

I wanted to love this place. I really, really did! But, when I know that the Mediterranean fare at Nicholas Restaurant (review coming soon) is just a short trip up I-5 and the Mezze Platter at Sapphire Hotel is available at happy hour prices, I just can’t say this is going to be a Stumptown Lunch favorite.
I’ll be honest; I am a gyro fanatic!! There is nothing better at lunch than a great gyro! So the first time I stopped by Café Le Delice, I ordered one. It came with a choice of salad or soup; I picked the Greek salad. I also had the choice of white or wheat pita; I chose white. My order came out super fast, but that didn’t change my opinion of my gyro. It wasn’t bad, it was actually good, but I was a little annoyed with the lettuce they used. It’s not shredded lettuce, but large chopped pieces, which was a strange balance with the very slender pieces of tender meat. Continue reading Review: Cafe Le Delice
